Why would I sign a petition with the possibility that someone could get hurt or killed due to the terrible conditions left by the storm? They'll let you in when it's safe. I thought they were letting people back on during daylight hours with an escort.

Letting people who live there in with no equipment is not sufficient. They have to have sufficient access to stabilize the homes, or in 8 months there's going to be nothing salvagable left.

These people are adults. The homes are theirs. They shouldn't have to beg and plead with the governmetn just to have access to them.

I would say that some barrier islands should NOT be re-built as they were before if it means re-building every 2-3 years.
