Also... We have concerns about hospitals. I know Hackettstown has one, but, Lauren, what hospital would you goto living in Harmony or Belvidere?

Thanks!!

A few "downtown towns" you could look into:
Lambertville
Frenchtown
Washington (Warren Co.)
Hope
Hackettstown
Blairstown
Belvidere
Newton

I'm sure there are others...
Is Washington a pretty downtown area? From what I saw down our Route 46 drive it wasnt very nice, but my husband's boss lives there and loves it. I was confused.

I didn't notice about kids, but Hunterdon has great schools, Warren County does not.

I never get the whole generalization thing about schools...I went to Harmony Township elementary and then Belividere high school both in Warren County..nice small schools in nice towns... went on to college and now have a very successful job in NYC. Kids from my high school went to Princeton, UVA, Notre Dame...good colleges....so maybe they aren't characterized as great but I didn't see anything wrong with them...

Try Mercer County.

Hamilton is affordable and safe, and has both a rural- and urban-feeling section, but only mediocre/okay schools.

West Windsor, East Windsor, and Robbinsville are expensive, but have great schoools and are much more rural.

All are close to hospitals in Trenton, Hamilton, Princeton, and Plainsboro.

Thank you! Unfortunately due to my husband's job we can't go south, but I LOVE that area. You are so right. I just recently went to a bridal shower in Hamilton and it was gorgeous there.

Ah. Understood. Good Luck in your search.

All the towns ITT being suggested are very good, BTW.
