I don't understand this. There is no across the board policy for returns in all local stores, and I haven't had problems returning anything. I even returned a pair of sneakers once to a local store that my bff bought while here on vacation, and decided they hurt after wearing them for an entire day. No problems. I don't understand the risk of them closing - do you mean you're afraid they might suddenly shutter the doors the day after you buy something and then you won't be able to return it?

Try returning something to Walmart the day after Christmas - I dare you!

I did it last year, and I just did again this year. Who would pass on $25 worth of free stuff? I bought tools at the local hardware store.
