Hi all,

I was considering proposing to my gf, but wanted to do it with a view of the GWB from the NJ side. Do you know of any good resturaunts in the area with a good view of the bridge?

Thanks!
Tops

I am not sure, but for what it's worth, I think that's a GREAT idea.

The Chart House in Edgewater. I know they have great views of the city and since it's right on the river you should have no trouble viewing the bridge. Call ahead and ask them.

Chart House is in Weehawken. It's a nice, white-tablecloth place right on the river. It's directly across from Midtown, and those are the best views, but you can see the bridge by looking up-river. Maybe you can ask to reserve a table with a view in that direction?

Also Crab House in Edgewater is on the river as well. It's a little more casual than Chart House, but it's closer to the bridge. Here are a few pics that illustrate the view:

Those are the only two restaurants I can think of where you might have a view of the bridge from your table. There are a few other restaurants along River Road in Edgewater or in Fort Lee that might be nice for dinner, but you'd have to then take a walk to the waterfront to see the bridge.

Pretty sure Chart House was destroyed by Sandy, at least some of it was.

LOL. And whenever I see Bush referred to as GWB, I think they are talking about the bridge!

Chart House for sure. That was on my mind before I saw everybody's posts. The sure answer.
