Trying to get some honest opinions on commute time to Chelsea area of NYC from usr. I know. You have options of bridge and tunnel. Does anyone know drive time in am around 730 and after work say 630?
Looking at homes in the area but want to make sure I understand the commute.
Thanks

My friend does it from USR to Downtown Manhattan during morning and evening rush hour. Expect travel time to get there and come back about 1 - 1.5 hour each. Traffic in Manhattan itself is a nightmare.

thanks I guess I was figuring that.....I am not so concerned about the hour it is the 1.5 that scares me. If that is the exception and not the rule then I get it. Also do you know if your friend takes the bridge or tunnel?

appreciate the response.

Well sometimes it could be even more, depending on weather condition, accidents, before a holiday, etc.
However, since the tolls have increased, the number of cars has slightly decreased.

He takes G W Bridge. He said the tunnels are worse.

Why don't you move closer, or perhaps plan on taking the train or bus?
