Hi everyone,

I know it's an old question but i will appreciate a lot for your input and advice.

I'm a female working in Elizabeth so I searched for a room nearby with convenient communication. I pick Harrison because it's close to path train. I pick Newark (north and south ironbound too) but i heard rumors that those are not safe and contain much crimes so i excluded them. Please advise me if Harrison is safe to live there? Usually i'm home before 8-9pm , just occasionally late at weekends.

Thank you very much

North Ironbound is fine , South Ironbound has a few crime issues and is more Industrial....nothing too violent , but petty crime.... Harrison is great , its a working class suburb of Newark most of the town works in either Newark or New York....so if your coming home around 6-9pm you'll notice a commuter flow on the sidewalks....congestion in both Harrison & Newark continues to get worse so try to use Transit over driving. Streets are gridlocked between 5-8pm.

Thanks for your advice.

I dont own a car at the moment so mostly use public transport (buses, train) or carpool with others. It's a good news for me to choose Harrison to move in because I consider safety is an important issue.

thanks again

Its under going alot of Urban Renewal lately like neighborhing Newark should you be seeing alot of demolition of old warehouses and Factories and then construction of new apartments and stores....or corporate HQs like with Newark.
