just getting any info regarding Fords, NJ. We're looking to purchase a house. Our budget is 250k and have a 9 year old that will go to middle and eventually high school. How is it compared to Avenel and how is it compared to Iselin? Tried to search for some info here but I didn't get any good data. Thanks in advance.

Fords is a section of Woodbridge Twp. between Edison and Perth Amboy

Part of Woodbridge. Decent neighborhood. Safe. Better than Avenel, but not as good as Iselin.

Every school in the township, be it elementary, middle, or high school, has a specific "catchment" area.
Your address determines the school that your child will attend, and you cannot opt for a different school unless your child has been diagnosed with specific learning problems that necessitate a program that is not available at your local school.

One of my coworker/friends lives in Fords. Quiet little street, small house, but nice enough, with a yard. I've been there a few times, appears very safe.

Her kids went to Catholic school though--she is religious.

Didn't mention this before, but I know some people who grew up in Fords behind Vintage Vinyl on Rt 1. They went through the public school system and Woodbridge High School. It served them well, and they are all independent and supporting themselves.
