Why do some people feel they have to be so obnoxious? Hopefully I will find a nice group wherever We end up!

The school overcrowding problem worries me I will look in to that more.

We are leaving Saturday for your area....will visit Ridgefield and surrounding towns and also look at Rye and Irvington in Westchester. Maybe even Scarsdale for the great schools. I loved Rye when we visited last, but am concerned about the commute so we will drive it ourselves during rush hour while we are there!

Thanks for all your help everyone!

Steve, I think you said kooky and not looney....

I didn't mean to attribute the "snobby" comments to you...it's just a generalization you hear in the area. You were actually quite nice in your comments.
Sorry if I implied that you were behind any of that. It's just that when you live in this town, you get used to people thinking you are dripping in money and have a condescending attitude. Some of us are just regular people!

The "kooky" description does kind of fit me though!

I live in Short Hills and like Ridgewood it has its share of snobs, but it also has nice wealthy and middle class people. And the school system is the best there is.

Is Ramsey snobby? I have to admit, I haven't heard that before. All I hear is good things about Ramsey. I suppose you will find snobs wherever you go...

Why does jewish have to equate with snobby? That is offensive. Anyway, Short Hills is not all jewish. There are many Asians, Wasps, etc.. All 3 are good towns. Short Hills, however, is the most prestigious of the three with the highest average home value and has the top rated school district in New Jersey. Short hills cannot really be beat when choosing a New Jersey subuurb. But if commute is a major concern, Ridgewood is not too far from Paramus.

^^^ Lol at the guy who is offended by the implication that Jewish people might be snobby but still manages to use the term "wasp" in his response. What a joke. Oh and buddy this thread is 3 years old.....
