Rant: What's the deal with seat belt tickets? (inspections, costs)

Also, I have to ask...a state trooper really pulled you over on the GSP for not wearing your seat belt? Or did he pull you over for something else, notice you weren't wearing your seat belt on top of that, and then give you a ticket for the seat belt since the noncompliance was right there in his face?
I swear that's all he gave me a ticket for and the first words out of his mouth were that he pulled me over for that. NJ and many other states are in a "Click It or Ticket" crackdown.

I sure hope you aren't one of those who complains about high insurance costs, then.
And it's messy to clean up bodies that have gone through windshields.
Yup. My husband and I kept one alive (barely) long enough for the medics to arrive and package her up. She would have walked away had she been wearing a seat belt. She had a 50-50 chance at best, and given the crater in her noggin, had serious brain damage if she did survive.
No points, but somehow my insurance caught wind of it.
