Hi, a group of friends and I are planning on renting a house at the shore for prom weekend, thing is, I'm not sure how many will rent to those under 25. I've heard that most of Seaside Heights and Wildwood will, is this true? What about Ship Bottom, Long Branch, o Belmar?

Thanks.

People will rent to under 25, but not 18 year olds on prom weekend. Not without a parent signing some paperwork at least

Some will rent, but you may need a parent to sign as well, and you may need a bigger security deposit. this could vary. We get a lot of high school kids who rent here (Ocean City) during "Senior Week", as it's a dry town so many feel it's a good fit for high school kids. Here's a quick list I found under group rentals, many say they rent for prom: Shore Summer Rentals: Group Specials In New Jersey This is south Jersey, though.

Don't forget if you rent in a place further north like Seaside Heights, that many of these towns were severely affected by Sandy and many businesses won't be ready by April. I would double check the area to make sure you don't get there and find nothing to do, few restaurants open, etc.

Agreed. Or a very hefty damage deposit.

I recall in my younger days that Belmar and Wildwood were easy to rent for the younger crowd. I think Belmar suffered allot of damage. I here that places south of Atlantic city where Sandy came ashore did fairly well. Like Wildwood. I would go for Wildwood.

A friend of mine owns two motels in Wildwood. He has no problem renting to 18 year olds for prom / senior week, but he does collect a larger deposit and requires a parent sign the agreement as well...with their credit card on file.
