Actually alcohol is a pretty good pain killer too and I don't develop a tolerance to it like I have to barbituates or codeine. I don't think medical marijuana in NJ will be viable until they allow people to have a few plants like they do in other states. Until then it will stay in the black market. Maybe this is what the legislators really do want.
And really, what's wrong with being high from alcohol or sex with consenting adults or legal or illegal drugs or any combination of the aforementioned as long as you are sitting in your own living room? Where do people get off thinking they have the right to decide how much pleasure other people are allowed to experience and under what conditions, when those people are in their own homes?
Winston Churchill drank a quart of gin every day for decades and no one complained.
This whole argument on medical marijuana has been resolved in a number of states and nearly all allow patients to grow their own. NJ is one of the few states to purposely keep the black market in the loop by only allowing dispensaries to START growing plants after people have registered. That's like going to the butcher, ordering a pork roast, and being told you have to wait for the pig to be born and raised and come back in a few months.

Pretend? I would tell you that your "understanding" and/or perception is not reality. There are many people that benefit from "Organic" THC and CBD to treat many medical conditions. Not only does it help cancer patients, (of which I have been one that has beaten Cancer WITH the aid of Med. Marijuana)...but there are many other medical conditions that patients benefit from its use as well. I would suggest doing at least a small modicum of research before making such a "blanket statement" that to be quite honest is VERY offensive to many who are suffering. I am currently prescribed "Marinol" which is synthetic THC and is legal in my state but the organic version is not. This fact alone not only confirms that MANY in the medical profession agree that there are medical benefits and prescribe as much in their medical practice, including my own pain management Dr., (if not then why have synthetic THC in the pharmaceutical market place if there wasn't?) but also confirms the "conspiracy" between government and the Drug industry to accomplish several obvious goals.

I suffer from Gastroparesis and Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome, (AKA - CVS **Google the "CVSA" to learn more about the disease and the CVS Association) and benefit tremendously from medicinal marijuana but I currently only can get it (legally) in the form of Marinol which doesn't hold a candle to the real organic thing! For those like you who think getting relief in the form of this specific medication is "silly"...i would ask you NOT to walk a mile in my shoes...but just take a few steps in my shoes and if you feel what i and countless others do...you would beg forgiveness for making such "silly" statements as the one you made. I wouldn't wish what i go through on my worst enemy. This kind of pain and suffering should be reserved for the worst of humanity like Hitler and Saddam Hussein, etc.

Gd Bless and I will pray for you!

Default Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome and Medical Marijuana

I suffer from several medical conditions. Among them is Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome which is a very insidious and downright evil disease. Very little is known about CVS including what triggers it let alone effective treatments or a cure.

It took more than 10 years to figure it out and diagnose it in my case and it took eliminating every G.I. disease under the sun and CVS was the only thing left.

MANY times when i go to the E.R./Hospital...more than half of the medical "professionals" i deal with have never even heard of CVS let alone know the first thing in terms of treating it. Many of my fellow sufferers are labeled by these same medical "professionals" as a "Junkie" looking for a "fix" and are abused in unspeakable ways!

Chandra Wilson of Grey's Anatomy fame is an advocate for people like myself as her daughter suffers from CVS. She has experienced being abused and mistreated by medical "professionals" who all think they know better or know more etc. Here is a link to a video she made concerning family members of CVS sufferers at

AND... here is a link to a video that goes over the major points of CVS including the use of Medicinal Marijuana in treatment....

Please visit the website of the CVSA - The Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association to learn more.

It is not a fake disease or condition and sufferers are constantly abused by uneducated medical "professionals"... a brief example would be to tell you that in the same evening i went to one E.R. and was verbally abused by the ER Dr. in attendance at the time and I was discharged with out so much as them making a phone call to any of my specialists who could confirm everything i was saying and literally said - "We don't give addicts "fixes" here, go bother another E.R." --and then when i made the 60 minute trip to downtown Philly to Temple Univ. Hosp. where one of my specialists is... instead of my local E.R. 5 minutes away ... upon my arrival i was immediately admitted to the ICU by those REAL "professionals" who had half a clue and half a brain!

It must be addressed by the medical community that there are MANY applications for Medical Marijuana CVS being only one among other things like cancer. It eliminates the nausea and pain that goes with conditions like mine AND eliminates the need for prescribed narcotics such as Dilaudid, Exalgo, etc. I could eliminate at least a half dozen medications that I currently take if I lived in Colorado OR if Pennsylvania would take its head out of its ass and get with the program like 18 other states and D.C. - have done!!

Please call your local and state representatives to support bills in their states for Medical mariuana to be legal!

In Pennsylvania the author of such a bill is Dailyn Leach who has brought a bill before the state senate EVERY session....but it is always held up in committee and never brought to the floor for a vote...which WOULD pass if senators could just vote on it!!!

On April 3, 2013, Sen. Daylin Leach (D-17) introduced SB 528, a bill to tax and regulate marijuana like alcohol in Pennsylvania. Sen. Leach explained, “It is time for Pennsylvania to be a leader in jettisoning this modern-day prohibition, and ending a policy that has been destructive, costly and anti-scientific.” The proposal was referred to the Senate Law and Justice Committee. The bill received a big boost of support in June when it was endorsed by Pennsylvania's NAACP chapter.

Please ask your elected officials to support SB 528.

In addition to leading the charge on taxing and regulating marijuana, Sen. Leach has also been busy trying to provide protections for Pennsylvania’s seriously ill who use medical marijuana pursuant to their doctors’ recommendations. Sen. Leach’s SB 770 would create the Governor Raymond Shafer Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act, which would allow qualifying patients and their caregivers to cultivate and possess marijuana. Patients could also purchase it from regulated compassion centers. SB 770 was referred to the Public Health and Welfare Committee on April 7.

Please ask your state senator and representative to support SB 770, urging them to make sure patients receive protections sooner rather than later.

PLEASE HELP THE SUFFERING AND CALL YOUR LOCAL REP. or SENATOR TO PUT PRESSURE ON THEM TO BRING THE BILL TO A VOTE!!
