Relocating...Moorestown or Medford???
We're anticipating a possible relocation to the South Jersey/Phillly area. My husband's potential job would be in Cherry Hill, so I'm trying to narrow down some possible prospects. So far, we're interested in Yardley, Pa, Medford, and Moorestown. We have small children, so I think these places would best put us out of the hustle bustle. So, what are you thoughts on Medford and Moorestown? We like the idea of living on the outskirts of a quaint town with nice restaurants and shops. Both would be convenient to Cherry Hill (moreso than Yardley).
Thanks!

Personally I would prefer Moorestown due to closer proximity to retail/dining as well as highways. Medford is a little more isolated and as a "woodsy" feel, however is very nice with a quaint downtown. It all depends on what type of environment you are looking for.

Between those two, I would select Moorestown. however, you may also consider Mt. Laurel, Westampton, and surrounding areas. They are very close to Cherry Hill and offer the type of lifestyle you are describing.

We like the idea of living on the outskirts of a quaint town with nice restaurants and shops..to me this decribes Meford. Housing is cheaper in Medford than Moorestown, but Medford is just as nice.

I'm in the minority. I lived in Medford for 4 years. When I left, I told myself I was never going to live in a town of that quality ever again.

Moorestown was selected #1 by Money magazine a few years ago. I think it's pricey, but very historic and all. I personally like Medford, but I like lakes and that kind of area.

I don't think you could go wrong in either town.
I used to live in Moorestown (when I did not have kids) and it was beautiful. Easy commute to the city and major highways.
I think if we returned to South Jersey, now that we have kids I might chose Medford. You just get more bang for your buck our there and it is a very family oriented community.
Good Luck!

Moorestown by far, I lived there for about 10 years. The only problem is that it's very expensive! Depending on your budget, as someone mentioned, you'll get more bang for you buck in Medford

The commute to Cherry Hill would be much easier from Moorestown. Both are large spread out towns with a small Main Street shopping area. Both towns are great but there are differences.
Medord really strives to maintain that rural feel: your shopping choices are more limited but you have lots of open spaces. Medford is more affordable but that is because you are further out and will fight tons more congestion when you leave town and try to go anywhere else.
Moorestown has more conveniences and is much closer to Philly. Moorestown is more diverse than Medford and the schools have a better reputation, though Medford schools are no slouch!
If it were me, I would choose Moorestown for the convenience and more walkability but I actually chose Haddonfield and would advise you to look here as well.
