JB is right, ML Crossings is a very choice. I'd take that over Marlton, rent might a bit less too. ML Crossings was built maybe 10 years ago and it is a nice property with great location.

Yeah they are a bit more conservative than north jersey towns. Moorestown/Medford are pretty much polar opposites from a town like Montclair. Plus he was looking for 200k and that is not going to get much in Marlton, Moorestown, ML, etc.

Is there an active military base nearby ML? I saw a few military personnel during my recent trip which made me think there was military activity nearby? Generally, is Marlton considered a upscale town? How about Mount Laurel?

You have Ft Dix and McGuire AFB but they're about half hour east or so from Mt Laurel out toward Pemberton.

I would say Marlton is a little more upscale than Mt Laurel, but your milage may vary.

I would think there are more renters in Mt Laurel.

I would say Mt Laurel and Marlton are pretty even when it comes to affluency. However, in Mt Laurel you have more disparity. There are Moorestown-like mansions in the town and then you have your condos and renters. Whereas Marlton has a more homogenous housing stock (upper-middle class SFHs).

I feel both towns are the same when it comes to schools, safety, etc. IMO, the only thing that gives Mt Laurel the edge is that its closer to 295, the NJTP, and the Moorestown Mall/East Gate shopping complex.

I think traffic is a bit worse in Marlton but outside of that they are similar areas. The Mount Laurel decision in the early 80s had a lot to do with how ML was developed. It was overdevelped with condos, it wasn't until later that the mansions came in.

That's a better way of putting it. In Mount Laurel you have everything from doublewides to tract mansions and everything inbetween Condos Townhouses, log cabins etc.

Out Mt Laurel Road towards Marlton/Medford it get's pretty affluent. Over towards Fellowship road you have older 60's-80's houses, I would estimate.

It really depends on the area, Mt Laurel is pretty spread out.

In Marlton most of the homes are older, but you don't have the volume of condos and apartments and stuff like that.

I think Marlton is a nicer town, of course this is all subjective

They all wind up going to the same High Schools though, no?

I don't there are any double-wides in ML dude. It was overdeveloped with condos in the 80s due to the ML decision that mandated affordable housing statewide. I like both areas and think they are similar in most ways that are important - nice areas, very good schools, great shopping.
