Ok, I didn't go to schools here, nor I have kids of my own. I didn't really know what the situation was like. But thanks for your explanation

Of course, depending on where in Queens you're coming from the JC schools may be a step up, but I wouldn't recommend them.
I lived in JC about eight years ago with teenagers. Not a good idea. I was a single mom and didn't really have a choice. AVOID PUBLIC SCHOOLS IF YOU CAN. The school system sucks big time, and if you try to get involved as a parent, they get all snitty with you. And that was eight years ago. I ended up moving out toward Princeton, and although the school system appeared better, there were a lot of issues there. A lot of disrespect for parents. However, my kids were safer.

I lived on Jewett. I never felt afraid there. Most of the families were nice, but everyone pretty much kept to themselves. The apartment was decent except for the aggressive roaches who would actually try to crawl on your plate as you were eating. I could not get them under control. My landlord lived upstairs and he and his family were rather disgustingly filthy, so the roaches were rampant.

The one thing I hated was the parking. They sweep every day so you have to move your car every single day.

Try taking a look at Kearny. I grew up there and went to the schools there. It is right across the HAckensack River from Jersey City and probably has one of the better public school systems in Hudson County.
