My husband is being transferred from Phoenix AZ to Whitehouse Station NJ. Some of his new co-workers have suggested that we move to a PA/NJ border city because taxes in PA are lower. Is that true and do you have any suggestions of a city to move to for a small family?
whitehouse station is probably pretty nice but you might be pretty bored coming from phx - i dont think there is a lot going on there compared to phoenix.
i noticed the air quality report on it is terrible.. not sure why?
That's a great area in NJ. Where are you trying to stay budget wise and what type of a lifestyle are you looking for and I'm sure we'll have many recommendations for you.
Whitehouse Station is located in my favorite area of the state. I live just a few minutes west in Clinton and absolutely love it. You have suburban/rural openness, but still public transportation access to NYC. All the shopping you need in either Bridgewater or Flemington too.
If you don't mind a little bit of a commute (~40-50 mins), you can get a much bigger and newer house in Easton/Palmer, but with the current real estate market there are plenty of nice places to be had much closer.
As somebody else asked, what sort of places/lifestyle are you looking for? I'd be happy to help as best I can. Good luck!
Whitehouse is a great place to live in NJ. If you going to be working at Merck I am sure you can afford Hunterdon County.
Great Balloon fest every July at Solberg airport right next door to Whitehouse.
BTW the commute from PA to Whitehouse is terrible.
It's defintely cheaper the further west you live, but it wouldn't be worth it to me with that commute. My advice is to find some where east of Whitehouse.
