I am looking into buying a house as far out as Roxbury Township. I was just looking to get some insight on how long the commute on 80 to 280 would be if I left for work at 6:30am and left work at 4:00pm to come home? Just wondering the typical commute time, I know there are always variables with rain, snow and accidents.

you'll probably have a lot of traffic. is where you work in newark near public transportation? if so, though long, i'd look into taking the train. there is a lake hopatcong nj transit train station in the landing section of roxbury, and one right over roxbury border in mount arlington, where you could park and ride. a monthly train pass is $248, and is around 1 hour 15 minutes from lake hopatcong. the price is the same from mount arlington.

6:15 is the magic number. Leave before then and you will have an easy commute from Roxbury to Newark. 6:30 AM is too late, the volume delays will have already started. 6:00 AM sharp is even better.
