It looks like I am in cmsvmom's position. Has anyone ever bought their furnace through PSEG? Wondering if that would be cheaper/better than a private co. It looks like that is a service they offer and they installed the old one.

PSEG probably isn't going to be cheaper.. look for someone selling Goodman, a gas furnace shouldnt be that expensive, I just had the entire HVAC system replaced for 6800.00

Default Pseg

Gravyboat, I'm with billb7581. My neighbor's hot water heater went and she got a new one thru PSEG with no interest for 1100. Mine went the next week and we got our installed for about 600. We paid interest on the credit card bill but nothing close to 500!

We just bought a town house and it's very poorly constructed and a poor use of space. I'm thinking of replacing the gas furnace for something quieter and more compact to give us a little storage in the basement. Re-routing the ductwork...how difficult is that? will it add a lot to the cost of the furnace? and is it something I could do myself?

cmsvmom - I'm very sorry for all your troubles. Hope things turn around for you soon.
