Hi all
Me and my husband r shifting to NJ from India.. I need ur suggestions for which area to stay..

- we will prefer apartments
-highest priority it should be safe and we might not have a car in the beginning...
- we don't want to live in a very Indian oriented area as we want to experience mixed cultures but at the same time it shld not be very far away as we have to go thr for grocery and all
- our budget for renting is approx 1500 for 1 bhk.
Have seen picastaway on internet hw is that and any other suggestions...

Thanks in advance...

Rahway is a pretty diverse area and is not too car dependent in the downtown. Has rail access, is close to Iselin. I had friends that rented a 2-bed in a really nice building for around 1700, so I think you could find something in your price range. If you do get a car, you'll be a close drive to the Edison area, which will have all the Indian grocers and culture you could want.

These are all fairly good middle of the road suburban locations. If you have some other questions, please ask.
