fun in Union City (Jersey City, Hoboken: movie theater, buses, nightlife)

So i just recently booked a place through airbnb.com and i got a place in union city. For the most part i wont be sticking to that area. But in general is it a pretty good area as far as entertainment?? Good resturaunts, clothing stores, sightseeing?? i know if you walk about a mile or so down the road you can see the view of new york but what else??

Lots of ethnic variety (mostly latino based) for food, cheap clothing and very little in the form of entertainment in Union city. I mean they have a movie theater some There are some 'night clubs' but most are pretty seedy to be honest. Take a cab to Hoboken or Jersey City or one of the many mini buses that go to Manhattan for nightlife...I mean you're that close!
