hey everyone, so i have a question to ask and i'm completely cluelesss.

I stopped collecting unemployment about 2 months ago. work a full time job again (thank god). and i just received a letter about something saying "discharge for misconduct and severe misconduct". Remind you, i stopped receiving unemployment about 2 months ago. I had started in july but ended it two months ago.

It keeps saying "if you wish to appeal this"

What the hell is going on? would be glad for a response on this and to help my confusion, as if i don't have enough to deal with (like most of us).

Thanks everyone.

Sounds like they're claiming you were ineligible for unemployment... and they're going to demand the money back.

I'd suggest reading the letter, I'm sure it's more specific than "something about".

i'm telling you, it tells me nothing. it tells me "discharged for misconduct" "and discharged for severe misconduct" along with "objection to benefit charges"

It sounds like your prior employer is saying you were fired for misconduct to fight the UE claim. I would dispute it because they can ask you to repay it.

Agreed.

Same thing happened to my wife when she got layoff. Her boss denied her said she left by herself. Her appealed and get reinstated.

What he said..do not ignore it as they can attach your current wages for the repayment if you don't pay it.

File an appeal. I got something from Florida saying that they wanted money back paid on a certain date and there was no money paid on that date. I had not received UI from FL for 3 years.
