Which was actually on the border Fort Lee/Cliffside Park. Oh the memories of the Cyclone, the tunnel of love, the tilt-a-whirl. Younger folks may not know (or care), but Palisades Amusement Park was THE theme park! Before Great Adventure was built. You could actually see the rollercoaster from across the river on the N.Y. side.

I went once. But I was so young I don't remember any details, other than that the rides were fun.

Barely and vaguely remember the radio commercial jingle (was very young then); something about "Palisades has the fun..... so come on.....".

IIRC our family took the trip from SI up there a few times.

They closed the year before I was born, but I'm always thinking about how cool it would be to have it still around.

I did have the pleasure of risking my life a few times at (Tr)Action Park.

what was the ride that tilted a bit and went around in circles? lol like it was the only one that did that...anyway, I think it may have been called the Alpine or something. It had a snow theme, I think, and the cars were like sleighs?

Little known fact. The water supply for the pool was from the Hudson River.

I remember Palasades Park, Olympic Park in Maplewood/Irvington and Bertram Island Amusment park in Lake Hopatcong.

Anybody remember the small amusment park (early 50's) in New Brunswick near the rt 18 circle, just past the Morris Goodkind bridge coming from Edison?(used to be a flea market there)
