Which was actually on the border Fort Lee/Cliffside Park. Oh the memories of the Cyclone, the tunnel of love, the tilt-a-whirl. Younger folks may not know (or care), but Palisades Amusement Park was THE theme park! Before Great Adventure was built. You could actually see the rollercoaster from across the river on the N.Y. side.
what was the ride that tilted a bit and went around in circles? lol like it was the only one that did that...anyway, I think it may have been called the Alpine or something. It had a snow theme, I think, and the cars were like sleighs?
I remember Palasades Park, Olympic Park in Maplewood/Irvington and Bertram Island Amusment park in Lake Hopatcong.
Anybody remember the small amusment park (early 50's) in New Brunswick near the rt 18 circle, just past the Morris Goodkind bridge coming from Edison?(used to be a flea market there)
