What a bush-league clown. His empty, meat-head, "Jersey tough" persona has created a cult of personality here. He's finished on a national level, but we shall see if this impacts him statewide.

who are they going to try to recall, Christie? the guy just won in a landslide and the tea party in nj is going to have limited influence. also, every politician and his cabinet is corrupt and capable of such actions. im not excusing it (I said to hang them) but the American people seem to be willing to accept that politicians are corrupt. so while you may not consider gun control more significant, politically its easier to rally people for that than to battle corrupt politicians. who would they find to run against the recalled politician? it would just be another corrupt politician and his corrupt lackeys.

In the long run, I genuinely don't see why this is such a big deal. Just my honest opinion. It would be more of a scandal if Christie himself said these things, but he did not. We can't prove Christie knew these communications were going on (at this time).

It's annoying that the GW closed lanes unannounced, believe me I get it as I take the Goethals and would have a fit if that happened to that even bigger mess of a bridge. My take on the texts about smiling because the kids were late for school, seriously my first thought, was they thought it was funny because I'm sure the kids didn't mind being late for school - that was my first thought, too. The Buono comment - clearly a joke, if a messed up one. Buono was a joke the whole time, she had no chance.

They finally uncovered the smoking cheeseburger. JC mayor also says that when he failed.to endorse His Thighness, meetings scheduled with the governor's office were cancelled immediately. He's a bully who has now shown that he's unfit for office.

What if your mom was being rushed to surgery in NYC and couldn't even get out of Ft. Lee. Would you still be lol'ing and not calling it such a big deal?

This.

This amateurish political stunt makes NJ live up to it's reputation as a corrupt political backwater.

We deserve better. Much better.

We should also see some prosecutions, IMO. All the way to the top if warranted.

Wow, if that's the New Jersey opinion, you guys get what you deserve. Apparently the traffic was jammed four hours at a time and emergency services could not aid patients. If someone had died would you care? Would you like your children in a bus for four hours four days in a row? And Christie's team was angry that New York gave Fort Lee the lanes back after four days. How long were they going to do this? A month? Longer? In the texts, they talk about retaliation for New York giving the lanes back. And it is Christie's closest staff orchestrating this. I find it impossible to believe Christie didn't know all about this.

Why would anybody from NJ be rushed to surgery in NYC? My dad had surgery in the city in October and it was planned in advance. There was no rushing involved. On a good day, the traffic getting to NYC for emergency surgery would be risky, let alone a day with bridge closures.

If I got into a car accident right now and needed surgery, I doubt anyone would try to bring me to a hospital in the city.

So since this scenario is unlikely, yes, I would still be laughing (even though I never was ). This affected mostly commuters and school children, and while that completely sucks (as I said I can relate - I take the Goethals) none of this surprises me nor do I think it's such a huge deal. Politics is a game. Politicians often play dirty. If we go after this situation we should go after them all. If we're outraged by this we should be outraged by it all.
