It's a shame because that's what actually happen though. The Onion actually told a truthful and valid article for once. That's what makes it so hilarious.

Anyone know who her lawyer is?

I don't see how there could not be criminal charges here with those involved. And the 91 year-old woman's family can sue for wrongful death. In her case, you can't be certain that the doubling of the response time made a difference in her condition and that she would have passed anyway. But it does point out the seriousness of what was done and what could've happened.

What's really disturbing is that the Mayor tried calling the Governor's office to find out what was going on and they ignored him for days. This left everything in chaos.

Even if Christie had no knowledge of what was going on, those closest to him were the perpetrators. He is guilty by association. What a stupid thing to lose your political career over.

Yeah but it's even more hilarious than normal because this story is actually truthful despite being so ridiculous. This is definitely a new low for Gov. Christie.

It always can be viewed as truthful, that is the beauty of satire and also why it is hilarious.

"If he knew, he should be removed from office, if he did not know what his top aides were doing for FOUR days (which is laughably unlikely), he is incompetent. Sorry, but no rational adult will accept that a politician running as tight a ship as christie, with presidential ambitions, did not know"

Why not, it's been working for Obama since 2008.

Actually, the Onion gets a lot of stuff right, like this one right after GWB's inauguration:

Bush: 'Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Finally Over' | The Onion - America's Finest News Source

Talk about Nostradamus

, Bush too, and Clinton, and Bush, and Reagan...see a pattern emerging here... there is no question this pattern will eventually lead back to Caesar

There are several issues here, one being the criminal action taken by the aides to close the bridge lanes causing traffic unneccesarily. This leads to a further decay in the public's trust of government, and gives credence to idiot conspiracy theorists when they claim narratives about government malfeasance.

Second, the repeated lying by christie as the onion layers came off, first denying it happened, then that he had knowledge of it, etc. These were his top aides pulling this crime for several days not including the initial planning and discussions of it, so he is either lying (very likely) or highly incompetent, and therefore unfit to serve any longer as governor, let alone president.

As for my political bent, the world would be a far better place if BOTH christie and our awful, incompetent and amatuerishly pathetic embarrassment of a president named obama both resigned within 10 minutes of each other - like Friday morning.
