Day cares in Madison or Chatham (how much, YMCA, to live in)

Hi My husband and I will be moving to Madison in Feb.
I need to find a good day care for my son by May, in the Madison/Chatham area.
I will be commuting to the City daily so would like something which is nearby to the train stations in either town, but am ready to compromise on that if its a great day care.
Also, how much in advance should I register in day cares in these areas, do they have a long waiting list?
How much is the average cost for 8 hrs of day care 4 days a week in these towns?

I don't know any personally, but the surrounding area has plenty of places to take care of your children (bernardsville, mendham, peapack, etc.) Its a very nice area to live in.
