Atlantic city NJ area/ Where to raise a family?
Hi everyone! Could someone recommend a few nice suburbs outside of Atlantic City where its a nice place to raise a family, yet not on the siper pricey end? We are in the 200-290,000 range for a home. We are hoping to find an area within 25-35 mins away from the casinos max.
How are the schools in these areas? Crime? Gangs?
what would the property taxes average in these areas?
The more info the better!!
Thanks!

A Realtor in the area would be your best bet. I know AC is seedy in some places. I've just driven through the surrounding areas and don't know all that much.

I would say definetely not IN atlantic city. Egg Harbor township is nice, absecon is not so bad, Smithville is beautiful and very historic, but not in a run down kind of way. Most parts of pleasantville is not pleasant at all, trust me! Ummm... i know there is more but these are the ones i can think of off the head. I used to be a casino dealer in atlantic city and used to live in the city limits and let me tell you... people sleep on that place but it is just a slum; with the exception of a few small neighborhoods such as venice park or chelsea heights.

dont go to atlantic city, or pleasantville. Northfield is a great community about 15 minutes away from Atlantic City and has everything you could possibly need

Some friends of ours bought in Mays Landing a little over a year ago and they love it. They paid $250K for an 1800 SF modified cape (Built in the late '80s), slab foundation, attached one car garage, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, on a 50x100 lot.

my cuz lived in Bernegat.. it's a nice beach community.. winter is bad though b/c if it gets really cold and icy then they will close the only bridge that connects it to AC..
