"Not really" The newer light-rail lines are losing far more money than the established train lines. Here's an older article:
Nearly NJ Transit's 'Biggest Loser' : the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail
"the only NJ Transit rail services that earn less money are the River Line that runs between Trenton and Camden, and the Atlantic City Line."
Looks like NJT broke the piggy bank for Pennsauken:
http://www.masstransitmag.com/news/1...n-south-jersey
"a new $40 million transfer station in Pennsauken, Camden County"
"Fare revenue on the Atlantic City line pays for just 22 percent of the $22.9 million annual operating and maintenance costs, compared with the 45 percent ... statewide"
It will be nice to get from NYC/North Jersey to AC by rail without going through Philly, but it will still take 3 trains & 2 connections to do it, then it's still a haul to the casinos.

New Jersey Transit also owns the right of way of several branch lines that it does not operate, some of which are leased to freight railroads to serve freight customers.
- Former Bergen County Line from ... Hackensack River to Croxton Yard
- Harrison-Kingsland Branch
- Western extension of the Raritan Valley Line from High Bridge to Alpha ...
* Freehold Secondary from Freehold to Farmingdale
* Southern Secondary from Red Bank to ... Winslow Junction
* Beesley's Point Secondary from Winslow Junction to Ocean City
- Cape May Branch from Tuckahoe to Cape May, plus a branch to Cape May Point
