I don't think you can really compare Camden to Newark. Newark at least has a decent amount of activity going on. Camden literally has nothing. The waterfront is great for tailgating & concerts, as well as the aquarium, Riversharks games, etc. Rutgers Camden campus is fine. The small downtown is okay, especially near the two Patco stations. But that's about it. Everywhere else is a total no-go. If you are white the police will follow you because you are probably trying to buy drugs.

Another area to be avoided is AC outside of the casino areas.

I can't imagine why anyone would think Morristown is dangerous.

Your friend sounds like she suffers from paranoia.

Morristown : Isn't bad, a lot of people think it is, it's actually not that big, only 20,000 people, but it looks bigger. I only went once, but seemed sorta nice, but boring to live in. I think it's only bad to like Morris County people, because I can't think of any really bad cities there...
Paterson : I used to live in Hawthorne, next to there. I know the Wrigley Park part is bad. I think most people think it's really bad because there's not a lot of white people...it's not as bad as Camden, but still not nice. I don't think you would get shot for just walking around, maybe mugged...
Jersey City : Really pretty parts, but also some bad parts, my friend got shot at there.
Hackensack: Not really a big city, but it's not dangerous at all, except for like one block.
Atlantic City: I think besides the casinos/boardwalk it's not nice, but I don't think there's much there besides that.
Newark: Nice parts, but that has a lot of bad parts, I think there's actually some stuff to see, though.
Camden: Never Camden, ever. #1 worse city in America, & honestly Idk what's even there to see except the aquarium.
Elizabeth : My boyfriend lives there, he says it's bad, but some people say it's not, so maybe it's not bad if you're just visiting.
Plainfield: I hear it's bad, but I doubt it's as bad as the Northern NJ cities.
Irvington: Also bad, but idk what's there to see really.

Ivrington is terrible and Plainfield has great potential IMO

Im not sure what it is with rich suburbanite jersey kids trying to find the worst dumping ground city ghettos to try to party and be cool and "down" lol!!Every city in Jersey is impoverished, crime ridden, and gang affiliated and bringing some kind of liberal hipster attitude of "I belong" bs will make you vulnerable to getting raped, robbed, or shot, not to mention busted by the cops because they probable figure white suburban rich kids wouldn't be caught dead their unless their completly brainless or trying to cop smack or rock.

I was scared driving through Linden at 12:25 AM in the morning. Its a very scary town overall and for some reason gives me the creeps.
