Okay, I've read the threads...
Looking to buy a vehicle in the next few weeks; settled on a Hyundai Santa Fe. My first choice was a Chevy Equinox but after weeks/months of study and homework, it was learned that the Equinox has major issues (heater blows cold air; A/C blows hot air) and GM will not recall the vehicle! Any-hoo, I know to stay away from Brad Benson Hyundai! I got a call from some woman at Lester Glenn Hyundai, she asked me what exactly I was looking for in terms of engine, trans, AWD or FWD (I want FWD). I'm not buying brand new mind you, but '06/'07 and I understand that they buy from the big auctions (Bordentown, Manheim) Is LG a good place for a deal? I was actually considering Craigslist to do my shopping...
Only thing is, no matter what I look at, the CARDINAL RULE is that I take the car to my mechanic, and he is in North Jersey - no mechanic lookee, NO DEAL! End of story!

Can't comment about Lester Glenn, but I can tell you to steer clear of Freehold Hyundai and Brad Benson Hyundai. I don't know if any dealers would be buying 06/07 cars at auction. If they have those years on their lot I'm thinking they took it on trade.

Why limit yourself by posting on the NJ forum? The real "car experts" are over on the car forum.

you should find out what a good deal is before you go to the dealer.

this is probably overstepping but I wouldn't buy an suv for use in nj and choose fwd. my brother got a ford edge fwd and about a year later he replaced it with an awd edge.

Gonna agree with that, I've known a few people actually who've purchased a fwd SUV and replaced it. Isn't that really the point of getting an SUV, the four/all wheel drive? If my Jeep had awd, it wouldn't be my Jeep anymore.
