Last summer, I was arrested for simple assault because I got into a fistfight. At arraignment, I spoke to the judge and pleaded guilty. The judge charged me with disorderly conduct instead of simple assault because it was my first charge and I pleaded guilty. I was also put on unsupervised probation for one year and I have to pay some fines. Would I be able to move to New York if I'm on probation, even though the probation is unsupervised and I was charged with a misdemeanor? By the way, I live in ocean county New Jersey and I wasn't sure who to ask about this since I don't have a probation officer. Thanks!

Get a copy of the documents from court and see if there are any restrictions listed.

Ok good, so I can just call the court house or go there and ask them to see the documents? That's great, thanks!

You'll have to go down to the court or DA's office and find out. Disorderly conduct is an offense in New York, not a crime by the way.
