Just shows you how much your paying for labor costs lol i mean granted it is labor intensive but still ..

My going rate I pay is per day not job, if I need something done regarding plumbing I make sure I have everything I need to get done on the plumbing ready to go or as close to it as I can, also for painting and other things.

We just did our powder room. $2500 for fixtures (vanity, toilet, mirror, chandelier, vanity light, and fan install, tile) and $2500 labor and materials(crown molding, chair rail, box trim, and baseboard molding). In general $300-$400 per day is fair for someone who can do everything(lay tile, plumbing, electrical, and trim work).

Why would I spend a few thousand dollars on a new jacuzzi tub if I have a perfectly good one now?

Lauren,

Assuming that you'll keep the existing piping and rough-ins and assuming a lot of other things I think, it'd cost around $13,000. See the cost breakdown below. Add another $750 for a new door with trim, hardware and paint. I hope this helps. Let me know how other estimates compare.

$ 150 Building Permits
$ 250 Cover/Protect existing house
$ 700 Dumpster Rental
$ 450 Strip Bathroom
$1650 Average grade tile flooring
$ 700 New Gypsum wall board (8ft high ceilings)
$ 400 Paint
$ 750 Ceramic wall tile around bathtub
$ 500 Floor Mounted 2 piece WC
$ 550 Lavatory
$2300 Corner Shower
$ 300 mixing valve
$ 550 Shower Door
$1500 Bathtub
$ 500 30 inch vanity base
$ 150 plastic laminate vanity top
$ 300 electrical
$1000 other accessories (light fixture, mirror, towel rod, toilet paper roller, vent, faucet etc.)
$ 200 clean up
