Maybe she lived in the ghetto and her neighbors were those types of Indians.
its gotta be beyond that. ive never really seen such anti-indian sentiment. sure, they arent the most attractive people and their food is too spicy, but they send their kids to school and they dont shank people. so i dont get the hatred for them.
Do you want to live near Indians who live 10 people in one room? You can. I won't.
You are stereotyping based on your bad experience. Its unfortunate that you lived next to folks like that. But i have lived next to indian people who were very nice and clean.
Back to the topic at hand. JSQ is a prime location for commuting to NYC and it most definitely will be gentrified sooner than later. Regardless of whether or not there are indians living there.

REALLY Cap?
Perhaps you should broaden your horizons a bit....There are beautiful women (and people in general) of ALL races. Blond hair & blue eyed people don't make the world go round, my fellow poster.
Of course, you are entitled to your likes/dislikes, but there are some seriously drop dead gorgeous Indian women out there...like Miss America 2014 Ms. Nina Davuluri (see picture below).
I also get that Indian food isn't for everyone (and that's OK..personally I don't care for Vietnamese food)...but the restaurants can dial down the spiciness of just about any dish you order, so that it isn't too hot. But I'll take a guess that you don't care for the seasonings they use (i.e. Curry).
When I used to live at home, Indians moved in and I saw all this first hand. My friends/coworkers have told me the minute they get Indian neighbors, they get bugs, it smells bad, and their children run wild. Those have been in the homes, tell me they're dirty/messy.
I'm sure they don't act that way at work. I wear a t-shirt and panties at home. Do you think I do that at work?
I don't know. I guess that would depend upon what kind of work you do.
But c'mon, to assign all the people of one group with the same characteristics is racism, no matter how you slice it. Be smarter.

I was being somewhat lighthearted in my post, but the reality is that there is a hierarchy of attractiveness among races. we are not all equally beautiful.
whenever ive had indian food that my indian friend's parents cooked it wasn't spicy and I liked it a lot. even if it wasn't good, who cares? I wasn't using spicy food as a means to attack a nationality.
I have no problem with Indians, the ones ive encountered have always been good people to me, even though they were ugly.

Gonna have to smack you upside the head, Captain. Some Indians are very attractive. They vary so widely you can't put them all in one group. That's like saying "all Americans are ugly."
And, as I said, I work with four people from India. None speak the same language, they have different religions, and they all eat different types of food. One of the women I work with comes from an area where they rarely use curry at all, and she's married to an Indian man who grew up in Trinidad, so she makes him Caribbean food. India is a big country.

I know some of them look more attractive when you shave their beards and all, but overall they aren't a pretty people. its like if you took each race and use parabolas to go through ugly through beautiful. sure, they will be some overlap but the differences will be clear.
