I was recently told that as a non-resident landlord/owner I can not do any plumbing or electric work. I have a 2 family and have owned it for over 20 years. So I need to know if the the statement is accurate or if it depend on number of units eg. 4 or more have restriction but not 2 sinerio. Also would I get grand-fathered in because when I purchased I was able to do any needed work.

Thank you.

Why not call the Township and ask them?

I would rather not speak to them for a variety of reasons until I know more, I will most likely call trenton first.

Trenton might not help you as it could be a township ordinance.

Township of Old Bridge, NJ Table of Contents

Old Bridge Township, code index

It seems that it would be simpler to call the township & ask what the rules are for the work you want to have done. Some work requires a permit.
