Car registration in NJ
Need some help here people. I bought a truck through an auction as a clean title, no leins. Now I have the truck and the title and I find out that the title is still in Virginia title, under a finance company that has been out of business for 3 years and registered in Indiana. I also find out that the truck is a repo and a fleet car. The person who sold this truck at the auction just signed his company name and I believe it to be false in the assignment area, and this truck was sold at NJ auction. I also find out that Capital One still has a lein on this truck but the title says no lein. good for me I guess, but at the same time can anyone tell me how this is possible, and who can I complain too about this problem, I am trying to get in contact with the company located in Woodbine NJ, but avoiding the calls, does anyone know what the laws are on this title stuff. I am also new here, and very confused.
