The problem with online gambling as a whole is that it is guaranteed that the house will always win and luck is predicted into their design and will never beat the house. Many companies and individuals that run the online gambling sites have been caught over the years to have owned Godmode ability and become players on their own sites and they can see all your cards and what's in the deck easily. Technology made this possible.

Unlike at a real game that you assume the cards in that deck are random in a computer program there is no such thing as random.

Hm... I haven't tried online poker yet. I've heard of people winning a lot in it, but I'm still a little hesitant about trying. And yeah, I heard about all the geolocation stuff. My friend kept getting knocked off, too.

What about betting on Kentucky Derby/horse racing? Anyone try a good site for that in NJ? In ny there is NYRA Rewards and DRFbets but they don't work in NJ.

You can only do that on offshore sites. NJ doesn't allow sports betting at all.

NJ does have on-line horse betting.
I have an account since it started in 2005

https://4njbets.tvg.com/

You could also try to visit one of their off track betting locations

While NJ does not allow sports betting, it does allow on-line horse betting.

I tried it. I played some slots at harrahs.com. I thought it was fun, but nothing compared to actually going there and taking it all in, the sights, sounds, free booze and all
I wanted to play Texas Holdem, I signed up on one site and was told that I had to use a wireless cell phone data carrier to play with real money. I have a perfectly good internet Comcast service, I'm be damn if I'm going to pay for for another service just to play a few hands of cards.

The New Jersey Location thing needs work, If I crank call 911 or sent threatening emails, they know exactly where I live, but can't verify my location is in New Jersey if I want to gamble online. I live pretty close to Atlantic City too, it's not like I'm a few miles from the New Jersey boarder.

You don't have to play on the cell - in fact right now you can't. They (I am assuming this is Ultimate Poker) just want to use your cell phone to locate you. IMHO this is a much better system than geolocating via Wifi.

That's one of the attractions of Online Gambling regulated by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, they ensure the web site operators are not doing anything underhanded. The odds are always rigged in the houses favor, they how casino's stay in business, but at least you can expect a level playing field with regulation.

It was, The cell phone location thingy didn't work and after several attempts I gave up. My cell phone does calls and text ONLY, I do not want or have any data service for my cell phone, could that be why? I currently play on Full Tilt Poker with play money, several other sites I looks at, the graphics just were not on par with Full Tilt. If I'm going to play for real money, I want to play on something that looks half way decent, and has features like the ability to look at previous hands I played. It's too bad Full Tilit never got a license, I would like to play on that for Real Money.

I have a six year old Virgin Mobile phone. It only does calls and texts. I have no problem logging on to Tropicana, Golden Nugget, Borgata, Caesars or Trump Plaza sites.

I haven't tried the other sites. If you really want to play on-line, try one of the other sites.
