My daughter is 15 years old, Asian. She will go to a high school in Demarest this August. Because her school doesn't have dorms so we want to find a host family. We hope to get some suggestions and help from you. Thank you!

Wouldn't it make more sense to contact the school and find a host family that actually lives in Demarest?

If your are "OverSeas"

Honestly you need to go thru one of the International Student host programs. Assuming Demarest accepts "exchange" Exchange Students.

If you live there now,

you should network with your daughters friends, and families you know in the district. Odds are you will need to give them Guardianship, and/or you would need to pay tuition to the School District, (If they even accept out of District Students.)

Is this a public or private school?

If it's public school than you have to reside within the school district.

Will a public school allow a child to attend knowing that the parents live someplace else?

I agree that an adult would likely have to be given legal guardianship over the child.

Why does your child not attend school where you live?

Sounds like a complex situation.
