Default Commuting North/East from Washington (Warren County)?

How bad is the traffic on Route 57 and Route 46 heading toward I-80? Could one expect to get from Washington Township to the Lake Hopatcong area (western shore) in 45 minutes assuming one was traveling between the hours of 6 AM and 7 AM? I'm not concerned with getting on I-80, because I would need to simply go under it on the way to Lake Hopatcong, but I figure that most folks on those roads in the morning would be heading for the interstate. How would the return trip be?

traffic isn't bad at all on 57, most ppl are headed south on 31. rt 46 is only bad if the weather is funky, there may be some volume, but normally you should be ok. i'm thinking 45 is probably the minimum amount of time, since you said western shore i'm assuming you'd get off at exit 28 on 80, right?

you could even just stay on 46, it may be a smidge faster since you probably won't have the stop and go on 80.

from the intersection of 57 & 31 to my house is just about 25 minutes, and i'm thinking it's another 20 to LH so 45 with no traffic (which will be most of the time for you) sounds about right. even though it's 45 minutes, it's definitely not a "hard" 45.

wow, long winded answer to agree with you, huh? lol

Thanks Tahiti. So you're saying most folks are headed toward 31 to go south huh? Any idea how bad that is around the same time in the morning? I'm guessing most people are headed for I-78. Does it thin out after you get past 78?
