Thank you all for your feedback. The money would be going into the reserve fund or to fill some other gap in our big money hole. I did go to our zoning board meeting and another carrier was seeking approval, some of the neighborhood residents who attended said that the owner was offerred $5k per month. Some of us in our building definitely do not want this until we are know that this does not have the health risk, we believe it carries. We are therfore lobbying with the other owners to vote no...until we know for sure.....
If we are going to do this.....at least let us get the most money...so that is my plan B....if we are going to loose the battle, then lets get more money into the association's pocket.
This experience has opened my eyes as to how alert we have to be, decisions to have these antennas installed are being made more often than we think......we do not really know what is happening around us.

For 2k/month they can put it on the roof of my house

I agree I'd rather have an antenna above me than next to me.

I don't know how these things radiate, or the amount of power, etc. Is a cell tower like a repeater?

Wow, 2k a month is dirt cheap for antenna placement. Even up here in the sticks (Maine) the going rate for tower space is 5.5k a month per antenna. I would have your association look into what the regular going rate is for your area. It sounds like they are trying to get in rather cheap. It could just be the difference in going rates due to locations.
