I live in Somers Point Nj and was recently offered a job at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The offer is about 15000 more than I make now but the commute is a BIG hang up for me. I work about two miles away currently so this would be a big change, Half of my travel expenses would be paid for by CHOP and im trying to figure out a train that would work for me. My hours would be 7-330. So my questions are-
If I leave at 530 am each day am I giving myself enough time?
Anyone out there do this commute?
Is it worth it to drive vs train in?

the 551 bus also leaves from the Atlantic city bus terminal and could look up the scedules at NJ Transit.com
Thanks!
The Atlantic City Rail line from Absecon leaves 4:42 am and get to 30th st station which is not far from Hospital about 6:04 the next train from Absecon isnt til 6:49. You could drive to the Sicklerville PR on the AC Expressway to get the express 551 bus to center City and the septa subway to get there

Reason: added details
With those work hours, it'd probably be faster to drive in. I'm not too familiar with the traffic on this route, but I believe the morning commute would be pretty easy, the afternoon commute wouldn't be great and could be terrible on some days, especially with shore traffic in the summer.
It's a personal decision whether it is worth it for the extra money, but here are a few things to consider. After taxes and the additional un-reimbursed commuting expenses , it's probably less than $10,000 more per year. Your commute will probably be about an hour longer each way on a good day, so that's at least 10 fewer hours of free time you'll have each week. The question is if that's worth your time.
