Former nudist colony in Chester? (Princeton, Hackettstown: appointed, houses, property taxes)

I heard somewhere that there is a community in Chester that was formerly a nudist colony that is now a "collective" of sorts of private homes. They all sit on the same plot of land and pay their property taxes as an aggregate which in turn results in fairly low taxes for all of the households. Sounds like a hell of an idea-anyone ever heard of this place? It was called "The Woodlands" but it stopped being a nudist colony in the 1960s when housing developments started cropping up around it. Apparently now its just a secluded community.

Why anyone would want to go to a nudist beach is beyond me.Its painful enough going to a regular beach and seeing people wearing things that they are a little too fat to be wearing.Why would anyone want to subject themselves to a nude beach where it all hangs out.Anyone who goes to a nude beach and expects to see models in perfect condition will be sadly dissappointed

Most people envision nude beaches being inhabited by beautiful women like Claudia Schiffer and Scarlett Johansson. Then when they finally get there the folks look more like Kathy Bates and Walter Mathau.

There is still a "nudist" resort in Hackettstown, NJ called Goodland. It's some kind of nude or clothing optional country club. Gives me the creeps...but to each their own.

100 percent true, most people on nudist beaches are horribly out of shape.

I believe that the site of the former nudist colony/park (1950's) is currently a Mendham, NJ local park located off Old Mill Road. Old Mill is largely in Chester Township and midway between the boroughs of Chester and Mendham. As you go toward South Road from Old Route 24, the park is about midway and up the hill from a large creek. It is not obvious that there are currenly houses on the former site, although it may have been large enough that this could be true on the borders. Largely, however, that area was surrounded by either woods or farms.

YES! We happen to venture into it by sheer mistake, while looking for the family beach. You will find the most ugliest people in the planet, AND I MEAN THAT! Of course, we left shortly, and were told by other bathers, that a lot of the boats on the water in front of it, have lots of people doing indecent acts openly.
