Hi,

I'm seriously considering renting at Meridia Water's Edge. I'll be walking to the train station in the morning and at night. Is this a safe area? I've heard all sorts of things about Rahway (mostly negative), and I wanted to ask from someone who lives/has lived there.

Thanks!

My friends lived across from the station a few years back and had no complaints. Seemed mostly blue collar and diverse, downtown had some re-development going on, and there were a few amenities within walking distance. Not fancy by any stretch, and probably a good idea to be alert (a good idea anywhere really). It's a pretty affordable town considering its good transit location.

I would give it a positive. It's quite relatively safe. Quite relatively active. The PD station is nearby on the corner. A lot has been renovated and quite a few restaurants/bars and smaller stores stay open late. People come off the trains at all hours without problem.
