Once the new Costco in North Brunswick opens on July 24th, you can go there in order to buy gas w/o a surcharge for the use of a credit card.
Do you have an American Express card? That is the only credit card that they accept.
I dont have Amex, but dad does. I shall inform him, so that at least he can save money on gas.
I've always wondered that too. There's an old abandoned gas station on Godwin Ave. in Midland Park (it's been abandoned for many years), but I remember around 15 years ago I stopped to get gas there and a gorgeous young girl (around 19 or 20) was the one pumping the gas. I thought that was awesome, and I still regret not asking her out.
There may have been one other time that I saw a woman pumping gas in NJ, but it is exceedingly rare.
U-Save! Used to stop there for gas all the time.
Now drive up Park Avenue, take a left to enter Waldwick, and Randy's gas station will be on your right. They are also mechanics. They had a woman working there for a long time--far as I know, she still is.
I've seen women gas station attendants here and there
I have yet to see any of them pumping gas, and I've lived in this state for years. Sometimes I wonder if some of you posters just lie for the sake of argument.
YEah. I never had a female gas attendant in New Jersey. I have seen women behind the counter at self service station in other states, but not one that is out there pumping gas.
Same with mechanics. I never seen a female mechanic.

Not really NJ related, but an interesting story... I was watching a documentary yesterday on the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (G.L.O.W.). For those who don't know, GLOW was a cheesy, schlocky, beyond low-budget show in the late 80s that featured all female "wrestlers". The documentary, and the schlocky show, were awesome.
One of the most well-known of the GLOW wrestlers was a character named Big Bad Mama, a "bad girl" voodoo queen. Big Bad Mama was played by a woman named Lynn Braxton. When GLOW ended around 1990, she worked as an auto mechanic for many years.
Lynn died last year. But she truly was a Big Bad Mama. I would have loved to have her put some voodoo spells on my car.
