By car, about 2-3 minutes to the train station. Then from High Bridge (Hunterdon County) to the office in NYC by train, roughly 2hrs overall.

I am very lucky. I live in Ewing township and communte to downtown Trenton to the Division of Taxation. Takes me all of 10 minutes on Rt. 29. I know there's no way I'll be able to duplicate that when we move to Oklahoma. I will sure miss this lovely commute!

30 mins. door to door. I live in Hoboken and take the bus downtown to the Path train, then hop on the lightrail to Jersey City.

The commute would only be 20 mins if I didn't have to take the bus.

I wake up at 8 and get to work by 9.

I am not putting any of you down but I do have a serious question for those of you who commute more then an hour each way. Especially the one or two who already admitted to it and those yet to post who commute more then 2 hours each way.

It just seems insane. Where is your life? You spend it driving or letting a train Conductor drive you. Seriously I think I would rather hold a hat on a street corner, at least I could be home by dinner.

Lets hear it some of you. Dig down in your thoughts and tell us the journals of your day. Are you just sitting in stand still traffic for an hour? Is it some slow moving back roads or just plain distance?

Let us know how you keep sane spending so much of your day commuting.

Well me personally I'd rather commute than hold a hat on a street corner. Most people commute because of high paying jobs that they need to support families. As for me I like to be able to WALK to the Atlantic Ocean anytime of the year. IMO good schools for the kids and I could leave my door unlocked and my car windows open. Commuting sucks but is a way of life for most Jerseans. 60 miles each way Garden State Parkway early in the morning a little over an hour on most days and on the beach by 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

55 miles each way and on a good day it takes about an hour and a half. Edison to Dover. GSP-78-24-287-80.

Ive been with the company for 12 years and its much more economical for us to commute (my wife travels to NYC from edison every day). Houses as big as ours near out jobs are at least 200k more than what we paid for the same house/land.
