I certainly shouldn't continue this off topic tangent, but...
The best food in Red Bank is no doubt Restaurant Nicholas. not a hot dog in sight, but if you want great food, service & wine, this is one of the best in all of NJ.

If you plan on living anywhere near the Raritan good chance that is where the public drinking water comes from.
BTW, the Raritan has cleaned up pretty nicely over the past few years. people are fishing the river all the time.

DonnaGio's -- Saddle Brook (but only if eating there, nice and hot)

As for the Raritan river water comparision taste test...I'll pass

I have. over the last 16 years I found 2. there may be more but 2 is good enough for me. just like nj. owners of both places are from brooklyn so they know what they are trying to make. other places just dont even know what it is suppose to be like.
still can't find good italian bread.

Mountain House didn't open in Emerson, but in Westwood on Center Ave. I haven't eaten there yet with all the other pizza places we have in the area. A couple great ones are Kinchley's in Ramsey if you like thin crust and there is another place in Ramsey in the Pathmark shopping center...I don't know the name but it is great. Broadway and Lisa's, both on Broadway in Westwood also have great pies.
