If you are ever in the area-check it out.

I'm a little over an hour north of Venice, unfortunately. My brother lives a little south of there, though, so next time I go see him I'll be sure to stop. Thanks for the tip!

Hmm with all this Pizza Talk and the Meetup luncheon, I have an idea.
How about each person brings a pie from their favorite place and then there can be a vote on the best pie.

Delorenzo's on Hamilton Ave in Trenton is terrific, but I remember an even better place on Chambers St. Was it Papa's?
And...no love for Federici's of Freehold?

For us Warren / Southern Sussex County folk - Cescos on Rt. 94 in Fredon. Their Polska Pizza is fabulous! Kielbasi and onions : ))

Lockwood Tavern is my pick for the best I have had in Warren/Sussex so far. Still not a fair comparison to what I grew up on in Essex County. Never tried Cescos, might have to take a road trip.

Trenton is/was best known for a "tomato pie" and not a pizza and there were and I suppose are great tomato pie restaurants. I hope there are anyhow. When they first were introduced to the area, according to my late father, they were referred to as "Obitz" or something that sounds like that. Perhaps it changed into Pizza?

Let's agree, shall we, that all submissions must be in NJ.
I'll start. When I lived in Hoboken, I loved Benny Tudinos (sp?) Huge slices, good chewy but not rubbery crust, flavorful sauce. Mmmm. As good as most NY pizza I've had.
Here in Martinsville, not so many good pizza joints. The Chimney Rock Inn, on Chimney Rock Rd. in Bridgewater, makes a really nice super thin crust pie.

Bill, there is no doubt in my mind that the greatest pizza ever made, in the history of pizza, comes from Marlboro Pizza in Marlboro, NJ. I don't live there anymore but I used to... their pizza never changed in 25 years and it was awesome every time. The people who worked the place were Italians who could barely speak English... that's almost a necessity if you're going to get good pizza.
