Default New Jersey Pizza

I get questions about it all the time when I am showing people houses & neighborhoods. Where can I get good pizza? Everyone likes pizza. I read someplace that we Americans eat more pizza than any other fast food. But what's your FAVORITE pizza? Here in NJ, being so close to the pizza capital of America, NYC, we should have access to some pretty good examples, shouldn't we? But I find it difficult to get really good pizza. So, what's your favorite, and where is it?

Let's agree, shall we, that all submissions must be in NJ.

I'll start. When I lived in Hoboken, I loved Benny Tudinos (sp?) Huge slices, good chewy but not rubbery crust, flavorful sauce. Mmmm. As good as most NY pizza I've had.
Here in Martinsville, not so many good pizza joints. The Chimney Rock Inn, on Chimney Rock Rd. in Bridgewater, makes a really nice super thin crust pie.

Chimney Rock. They do it right every single time.

All the smaller pizzerias I've tried are hit-and-miss. Awesome one day, absolute shiite the next.

Almost every pizza place I go to is good here in Northern NJ (aside from chains like Dominos). They seem especially good once you compare it to the slosh they call pizza made out of this area. Just don't look to closely at the cleanliness of some of the "mom and pop" kitchens. Some things are best left unseen.

Default essex county

In essex county most people seem to like Star Tavern in Orange. I know a lot of people that also like the pizza from Benito's in Bloomfield. I've had pizza from Leone's in Montclair that's very good, but I usually make my own, and of course, it's the best!

There once was a pizzeria on Rte 440 in Jersey City...Villaggio's. The best that I ever had in Jersey. Now, there is no place in NJ that knocks my socks off. I usually go into the City...sorry.
