Moving from Hoboken to the burbs
I was wondering if anyone could give me some feed back on Verona NJ. How are the schools? How long would it be to commute to NYC. I work in mid-town and my wife works downtown. We would prefer to take a train, then bus. Any info would be really helpful.
Thanks.

Sorry I don't know about the commute, but schools are excellent. If you don't get responses on the commute, you might check with NJ Transit and Decamp.

Schools
Thanks for your post. Do you know anything about the schools in Essex Fells, Glen Ridge and Montclair?

I've heard good things about the town of Verona - as well as its schools, and have considered moving there myself (though, I'm more likely to choose West Orange/Livingston, or one of the Caldwells).
Essex Fells, I'm assuming has amazing schools. It's one of the richest communities in the county (and extremely gorgeous, at that).
I don't know a lot about Glen Ridge, or Montclair schools - but both are very quaint towns (I'm in love with Montclair's downtown, and plan on attending Montclair State University sometime within the next couple years). Montclair is pretty diverse, and some people may call it "snooty" - though I have yet to meet anyone snooty there.

Also, try NJtransit.com
you can plug in info from address to address, and it will tell you which bus or train lines to take - and how long the trip should take (approx.)

Those towns are also nice with great schools. Glen Ridge is very highly rated. You could consider Livingston also. (not sure about the commute though)

Spin,
Commute from Livingston by bus is 1 hour to Port Authority (shorter if you are taking buses prior to 6:45 am). I don't when you or EB2 will be looking to move, but my house in Livingston will be on the market within a month. If interested, let me know.

Oh, well thanks.
Sadly, as much as I love Livingston, I'm but a poor college kid, and will only be renting a room or an apartment (pref. the latter).
