Default Zillow Addicts Please Sound Off

Wondering if anyone has any opinions/comments about Zillow. I'm looking to sell/buy soon and have found "Zestimates" to be wild, ranging from right on target with recent sales to just plain outlandish.

USA Today reported Zillow.com a while ago that you may like to review ... It recently reported anoher one with another 20 Internet real estate websites. Then, I finally checked into zillow.com and found it has some good features.

However, in Central Jersey area, it does not seem that powerful. e.g. Lili from M3 Realty Princeton told me, when I called to verify the message I saw, that she only got 2 calls from her ads on zillow.com whereas, she got tons of response from craigslist.org and sold the unit at full price (broken link)...

So, I guess, if you are buying and selling in Central Jersey, you may not want to skip craigslist.org, besides, it is free.

Still, according to USA Today's above article, realtor.com still removed the mostly visit, although drop 10% of the traffice for past year. Somehow, they did not compare craigslist.org

Zillow is pretty inaccurate quite a bit. Love it though to see what things have sold for and when they were purchased but being a real estate agent I already have access to it. I like Zillow just for the fun of it.

I agree. However, I found craigslist has some sold messages that also give lots of other info which I found very useful as you can see ...

I believe if you are real estate agent, you will love it. As I watch it for a while, and many people thought I am real estate agent as I could answer many of their questions, but I am not ...

My whole street is wrong which is affecting the zestimates. The zestimate for my house matches the house they say mine is which is a 3 bedroom 1 bath.

They have my house listed a block away from where it actually is. I sent them a message a while ago asking them to fix it and recently made a post hoping for a live person.

Default Zillow

Zillow has been having some problems lately, I know I can't get the screen to change, keeps coming up "sorry we are having problems". I've written to them as alot of people have, I've done everything they say to do, and still I can't get on there, used my member name........nothing works.

I enjoy seeing what the prices are in my neighborhood, although there are errors in number of bedrooms on some, number of owners, weather it is a sinkhole house, which there are several. I've now switched to realtor.com.

It seems like the estimates are lower than what they should go for. I'm not in real estate but does anybody else think the estimates are low?

I'm hoping to move back to NJ (from FL) by the Spring, but unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I am on the water and my house is priced at or above $500k. Zillow's estimate is about $30k higher than my asking price....I think it too high given the current market conditions.

i like zillow but at least in my area it's not accurate. my next door neighbor's zestimate is $100K more than mine - their house is about 100 sq ft larger but I have an additional bedroom and a finished basement, where they don't. The reason it's higher is because it sold a year ago and the zestimate is based upon sale price.

housefront is more accurate here.
