So I have a 2004 Lexus ES330 car. My airbag light on my drivers side airbag light will not shut off despite me having my seatbelt on. What can I do to get this fixed?

That warning light is telling you that the airbag(s) is/are inoperative, which could be...unpleasant...in the event of a collision. Unless you are very mechanically inclined, this will probably necessitate a visit to the dealership in order to diagnose the exact problem and to fix it. Some indy mechanics may claim to be qualified with this type of problem, but I would recommend biting the bullet and going to the dealership if you want it resolved properly.

PS--Wouldn't it make more sense to post your question in the Automotive Forum, rather than in the NJ Forum?

Honestly, I have no idea what I am doing on this website. It is very confusing to me. But thank you so much for the advice. I will take the hit and just take it to the dealership.

You would do better posting on the automotive forum on this same website here:

As far as your problem you need to have a scanner which can read and interpret the fault codes from the air bag system in order to have a chance at determining why the light is on.

Well, since we're here...

I had a similar problem on my 2004 Accord. The driver air bag light stayed on constantly. The dealer told me it was a broken sensor/clip in the seatbelt causing the problem. They told me it was $217 to fix, and that was about three years ago.

I never did get it fixed, and I have another car now, but if you're planning on having your car much longer, you should get it checked out.

A driver's side airbag being inoperable would make me very uncomfortable. Especially with the winter weather and slippery road conditions. It could very well make the difference between a fatal and non-fatal accident. I would get it checked asap no matter what.
