The worst state for a speeding ticket? N.J., naturally. Here's why. | NJ.com

Seriously? The worst place for a speeding ticket has to be Virginia, which makes 80+mph "reckless driving" carrying license suspension and a jail sentence of up to a year. Do 80mph on the NJ Turnpike and you won't even be noticed most of the time.

Agreed. Virginia's laws are insane.

But NJ SHOULD be the worst in the country for speeding tickets because it is the most densely populated state. There are simply too many people for one to drive too fast on its major roads.

That said, 15 mph over the limit is really the threshold for getting stopped in Jersey. Never known anyone to be pulled over for going slower than that.

Colorado is terrifying. People drive like lunatics here. And in Denver, hit and runs are the norm.

Whatever the reason is but i still find people honk at me when i drive within the limit ...mostly around Newark and many a times on rural or uptown roads.
PATIENCE is a virtue should be taught in school.

This is NJ, people honk at you when you're stopped at a red light. Patience is for people in slower-paced states.
