Can you temporarily work as a 1099 while on the tuition waiver program? I found a job offer to offer me employment for 4 weeks while working as a 1099 before the new semester starts. Can I work as a 1099 and still use the tuition waiver program once the contract is up for the 1099?

This isn't an unemployment issue. It is an issue with your state tuition waiver program.

I'm guessing they'll find any EARNED income - whether on W-2 or 1099 as earnings.

Check with your state/college - whomever grants the waiver in the first place.
